So far so good...

Well, thankfully not too long after I wrote that last post, I found an apartment, yay! It is a nice sun-shiny 2 bedroom place. I have the biggest closet I have ever had, I can walk 3 steps into it! And my room is one of the biggest I have ever had too, it's pretty nice! My flatmate is from Greece to makes great moussaka. Life is good!

After finding a flat, I went out to scotland for a little bit to catch up with my family there. It was really nice for a visit and a good chance to relax for a bit. We went to the Lonnarch Highland Games and took in a little Scottish culture...only the scots would think of throwing objects such as telephone poles (aka a caber) and considering it a sport.

I started teaching last week...so far so good...I think the students like me! One asked how long i intended on staying (in those words too!)...they had 8 teachers last year in this subject so a fair question i guess. Another asked if she could "take me home"...apparently she needed a pet Canadian (don't we all!). So, a good start I would think...

And thats about it for now...so far so good...

Caber tossing is a perfectly acceptable sport. Its good practice for throwing around the English!

I never said it wasn't acceptable...and well, when you put it that way, it almost even sounds useful!

Tossing around a caber sounds more interesting than tossing around a 5 ounce cork or rubber ball layered in twine and covered in two pieces of leather held in place by 108 stitches of waxed red cotton thread. :)
